Project Purpose / Background

The Community Engagement Manager wanted to create a program to engage the community in public art. Our solution: a large-scale yarn bombing/sewing project installation and event was developed.

Objectives:

  • Activate public spaces with art.

  • Involve local artists and volunteers.

  • Celebrate community creativity.

Scope & Deliverables:

  • Organized artist outreach.

  • Managed materials collection & installation logistics.

Tools & Methodologies Used: Kanban (task tracking), stakeholder coordination via email/meetings, volunteer management.

Stakeholders: Local artists, city government, community volunteers, and event attendees.

Timeline: 3-month planning, 1-week installation, 1-day celebration event, 1.5 month display and 1-week removal.

Expected Outcomes / Results:

  • Successful installation across downtown.
  • Positive media and community response.
